My bank account statement fetching process failed, what should I do?

Statement fetching can fail due to bank server issues. Punch retries automatically, or you can submit alternative income proof.

Why does this happen?

When Punch tries to pull your bank account statement for verification purposes, it connects to your bank’s servers. Sometimes these servers are temporarily unavailable or responding slowly, which causes the fetch to fail.

What Punch does automatically

If the initial attempt fails, Punch will keep retrying to fetch your statement for up to one hour. You do not need to do anything during this time — just wait and check back later.

If it still does not work

You have the option to submit an alternative form of income proof instead. A demat (DP) account statement is commonly accepted. To do this:

  1. Go back to the verification step where the failure occurred.

  2. Look for the option to upload a document manually.

  3. Upload your DP statement or other accepted income proof.

If you are unsure which documents are accepted, reach out to Punch support and they will guide you through the alternatives.
