Why is the payout amount less than what was requested?

End-of-day deductions for charges, losses, or obligations can reduce your final payout amount.

How the final payout is calculated

When you place a withdrawal request, the amount you entered is noted. However, before the payout is actually sent to your bank, Punch runs an end-of-day settlement process (typically around 6:30 PM). During this process, the following are deducted from your account:

  • Brokerage and transaction charges for trades executed during the day

  • Trading losses if your positions moved against you

  • Regulatory fees and taxes such as STT, GST, and exchange charges

  • Any other obligations like margin shortfall penalties

After all these deductions, your withdrawable balance is recalculated. If it is lower than the amount you originally requested, the payout is adjusted to match what is actually available.

How to avoid surprises

If you want to withdraw a specific amount, it is best to place your request after the end-of-day process is complete — that way, your balance already reflects all deductions for the day.
