The option chain on Punch is more than a static table. You control exactly which data points appear, giving you a clean view tailored to your trading style — whether you're tracking Greeks, monitoring OI shifts, or scanning for volume spikes.
Accessing the Option Chain
You can open the option chain for any index or stock that has options listed on NSE:
Search for the underlying (e.g., NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, or any stock with options).
Open the option chain from the Jump To Menu or chart.
Select the expiry date from the dropdown at the top.
The chain displays Call data on the left, Put data on the right, and strike prices down the centre. The ATM (at-the-money) strike is highlighted for quick reference.
Customise Your Columns
Punch lets you toggle 15+ data points on the option chain. Tap the settings or customise icon to choose what you see:
LTP — Last traded price of the option
Volume — Number of contracts traded today
Open Interest (OI) — Total open contracts at each strike
% OI Change — How much OI has changed today (percentage)
IV (Implied Volatility) — Market's expectation of future price movement
Open / High / Low / Close — Standard OHLC data for each option
% Change — Intraday price change as a percentage
Option Greeks
For traders who use Greeks to evaluate options, Punch displays all four directly on the chain:
Delta — How much the option price moves per ₹1 move in the underlying
Gamma — Rate of change of Delta (how fast Delta shifts)
Theta — Time decay — how much value the option loses per day
Vega — Sensitivity to changes in implied volatility
Toggle these on or off depending on whether you need them for your current analysis.
Visual Enhancements
Beyond raw numbers, Punch offers visual tools to help you read the chain faster:
OI Bars — Show or hide horizontal OI bars alongside the chain for a quick visual comparison of open interest across strikes. Higher OI bars indicate stronger support or resistance levels.
% Change toggle — Enable percentage change to track intraday price moves at a glance, instead of absolute values.
Placing Trades from the Option Chain
Tap any strike price row to open the order form for that specific option. You can buy or sell calls and puts directly from the chain — no need to search for the contract separately.
Tips for Using the Option Chain
Scalpers: Focus on LTP, Volume, and % Change for quick entry/exit decisions.
Positional traders: Enable OI, % OI Change, and IV to track institutional positioning and volatility shifts.
Greeks-based strategies: Turn on all four Greeks to evaluate spreads, straddles, and hedging positions.
