Customise your chart canvas on Punch desktop
Change the chart background, grid lines, crosshair, watermark, scale text and margins on Punch desktop charts.

The Canvas settings let you change how the chart area itself looks on Punch desktop — the background, the grid, the crosshair, the watermark, and the empty space around your candles. These are visual-only changes and do not affect your data or orders.
To open them, open the chart settings from a canvas and go to the Chart section, then Canvas. Settings apply to the canvas you opened them from unless you choose to apply them across the whole dashboard.
Background and overlay styles
Background sets the colour behind your candles (not the whole app theme). Choose Solid for a single colour, or Gradient to set a top colour and a bottom colour that blend vertically.
Grid lines control the grid behind your chart. You can show Vertical and horizontal lines (default), Vertical only, Horizontal only, or hide them. Vertical and horizontal lines have separate colour pickers so you can style each independently.
Pane separators set the colour of the divider line between the main chart and any sub-panes below it, such as Volume or RSI.
Crosshair sets the colour and line style (solid, dashed or dotted) of the crosshair that follows your cursor. The default is a grey dashed line.
Watermark is the large, faint text in the centre of the chart. You can set it to show the Symbol name or the Interval, and pick its colour. It sits behind everything and never blocks clicks.
Scale text and lines
Scale text sets the colour and size of every number on the price axis and time axis. Font size can be Small, Medium (default) or Large, and both axes always match.
Scale lines set the colour of the border lines along the edge of the price scale and time scale.
Button visibility
Navigation buttons are the scroll and zoom buttons at the bottom of the chart. Set them to Always visible, Visible on mouse over (default), or Hidden. Hiding them does not stop you scrolling or zooming with your trackpad or mouse wheel.
Pane buttons are the resize, maximise and close controls in the top-right of each pane. Set them to Always visible (default), Visible on mouse over, or Hidden.
Chart margins
Margins add empty breathing room around your data so candles are not flush against the edges.
Top margin and Bottom margin are set as a percentage of the pane height, from 0 to 50%. The default is 25%.
Right margin is set in bar-widths of empty space to the right of the latest candle, from 0 to 100 bars. The default is 25. This is a visual offset only — it does not add extra data.
Things to keep in mind
Desktop only. Canvas customisation is available on Punch desktop. These settings are not synced to mobile.
Changes are staged until you apply them. Nothing updates on the chart until you click Apply.
Reset to Defaults is available for the section if you want to return everything to Punch's standard look.
